The Honor Roll Crew’s Freshest Notes

Some time last year, DJ TAP-10 started sending me links and news of various Honor Roll Crew releases. It’s rare to find anything truly exciting in your inbox, such is the swamping barrage of promotional tat that is emailed out each day. But Trackademicks’ “Top Sidin’” definitely caught my ear, and Spank Pops’ Beautiful Noise EP pushed it over the edge, being just about the best rap EP for a number of years.
My feature on the Bay-based crew for the SF Weekly ended up stemming into two parts, which you can read here (straight-up version) and here (short attention span version with references to Ace of Bass, Haircut 100 and Mario Paint).
