In which I continue my campaign to try and highlight the blatant similarities between Big Sean and Tom Haverford.
Outlawz, Perfect Timing Review
2Pac’s legacy: Still largely rubbish.
Young Jeezy's The Real Is Back 2
I got to review Young Jeezy’s new (pleasingly short) mixtape for HipHopDX. Jeezy’s great on it; Freddie Gibbs still sounds confused.
Atlanta’s Independent Rap Roots
“K.I.N. stood for Knowledge In the Name of our ancestors. It was a group that I came into. The main guy was Andre Henderson, whose name in the group was E=MC2. Our sound was very political, very theatrical – we’d sample Meat Beat Manifesto or “Too Many Puppies” by Primus, which we mixed with the end of the Beastie Boys’ “The New Style.” It was kinda like a Public Enemy sound but more Industrial and mixed with faster Punk Rock.”
(Big thanks to H20 for sparking it all off.)
